Hot water maintenance

Hot water systems are a bit of a mystery to most people, but they're normally deceptively simple. Understanding some basics about how your hot water system works and what to do to keep it ticking over will often double (or triple) its lifespan.

Knowing when to replace the sacrificial anode in your hot water tank, knowing how (and how often) to test the pressure release valve, and knowing what to do in an emergency will all save you many thousands of dollars in the long run - and for the most part there's very little you actually need to do.
